2018 was a great year for political cartoonists. There was never a boring day, as more politicians indulged in spreading lies and hatred. On most of the days, cartoonists struggled to pick a subject from many contenders. So, is this the Achche Din for cartoonists? Many think so. I personally feel, if you have managed to ignore the abusive trolls, you can safely call 2018 as a very productive year for cartoonists.
I thoroughly enjoyed drawing cartoons in 2018, in spite of many unpleasant incidents triggered by some cartoons. For me the best part is, unlike in 2014 when after Modi Sarkar came to power, now people aren’t afraid to like/share/comment on cartoons showing PMModi in negative. And this tribe is growing and gaining more voice.
2019 is going to be one big and hectic year with the general elections scheduled during the early part of the year.
